No. We enjoyed a glass of Scotch after the show was over, then I tipped him and he was out the door.

I still struggle with tipping by European standards, so I might actually be.

Besides, I had my ex staying over. That is not to say he wouldn't have liked me to spend the night with Richard, but he knows my ways at this point.

A lawyer from Paris, twice my age, we were together briefly, before I went on tour to the US a couple of years ago - by the end of which we weren't lovers anymore, just friends. We've stayed friends since. His name is Michel.

Such an unfortunate name but we can't all be winners, I suppose. He's a lawyer, you say? What kind?

Corporate. He's head of a family business in Paris.

Hm. I assume he treated you well, then, if you're still inviting him over.

He treated me well, Lucifer. He just wants to see me happy, he did back then and he does now.

He did, said it was a nice respite from Chanel and Hermes business claims. I sent him off yesterday.

And the apartment? Suitable enough for you?

I love it. I love being able to move around my piano. And having to go to another room to sleep.

There's certainly enough of that, yes.

More than the space, though, I like that it's something you're giving me.

The feeling I get from that is still so new, I don't know what to do with it.
